Experience unparalleled power with our liquid-cooled 999 cc parallel-twin engine, featuring the proven Unicam® cylinder head design from our championship-winning CRF450R motocrosser. This compact design allows for optimal weight distribution and ground clearance, while delivering high horsepower and abundant torque.

• High-Flow Hardware for Serious Power

The engine breathes exceptionally well thanks to a high-lift, long-duration camshaft, twin 46 mm throttle bores, roller-tip rocker arms, and high-flow fuel injectors. The result is improved efficiency, reduced friction, and strong power output throughout the rpm range—perfect for off-road performance.

• Advanced Oil Control for High-Load Performance

Semi-dry-sump lubrication keeps oil away from the crankshaft to prevent windage losses and ensures consistent oiling under extreme conditions. Oil-jet pistons help maintain cooler temperatures and better sealing, extending piston life and boosting power.

• Engine Air Intake

Clean air is critical for optimal performance. The air filter is positioned high over the engine and to the side for a steady supply of clean air, ensuring consistent engine output in all conditions.

• Dual-Pin Offset Crankshaft

Offsetting the cylinders’ crankpins by 270 degrees delivers a wide, smooth powerband and abundant torque, while integrated counterbalancers keep vibration to a minimum.

• Engineered for Strength and Smoothness

The engine is mounted behind the cab for optimal balance and neutral weight distribution. Rubber mounts isolate vibration for a smoother ride, and four engine mounts add strength under high loads.

• Automatic Six-Speed DCT

Our class-leading Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) allows you to choose between manual or automatic control, and provides true engine braking and superior peformance to belt-driven CVTs. Steering-column paddle shifters let you override gears effortlessly, and Advanced Transmission Logic adapts to your driving style, holding or shifting gears for sport or relaxed driving.

• i-4WD with 2WD/4WD Shift on the Fly

The second-generation intelligent i-4WD system helps maintain traction even if one of the wheels spins. Torque-biasing brake control allows seamless, on-the-fly shifting between 2WD and 4WD for maximum control and effortless steering.

• Hill Start Assist

Prevents rollback when transitioning from brake to accelerator on uphill or downhill grades.
